Gwen has spent the past 20 years as the Student Services Coordinator for Healthy Learners Lowcountry and stepped into the Community Manager role in August 2025. Prior to joining Healthy Learners, she worked for Allendale County Schools for 15 years as a paraprofessional and five years as a Parent Educator with Allendale County First Steps. Gwen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Claflin University in Orangeburg, SC.

As an active member of her community, she volunteers with the Allendale County Senior Action Group and received the President Lifetime Achievement Award as a Guardian ad Litem with over 4,000 volunteer service hours. In her free time, she enjoys attending activities with senior citizens, going to church, and baking. Gwen has three daughters and four grandchildren.
