In 2024, Healthy Learners Pee Dee expanded its reach by entering Chesterfield and Darlington counties and adding two new Student Services Coordinators. This growth fostered new partnerships with healthcare providers and community agencies, enhancing support for students and their families.

The organization conducted 9,975 screenings for vision, hearing, and dental issues, helping to identify health barriers to learning and improve student care.

Additionally, Healthy Learners completed its first full year in Marlboro County, receiving strong local support despite challenges like below-average proficiency and high rates of single-parent households.

Looking to 2025, the Pee Dee team plans to increase outreach in Georgetown by working with school nurses and community members to identify students in need of health services and continue fulfilling its mission.
